The Koshka Foundation was established by Kristina Anderson, a Virginia Tech sophomore majoring in International Studies, and her family following the tragic shooting at Virginia Tech on 16 April 2007. A language enthusiast, Kristina was in French class the day the shooter struck. She was shot three times. Despite severe, life threatening injuries, Kristina underwent successful surgery to repair massive internal damage to her abdomen and back. Miraculously, she survived. Although thankful for her survival, she is reminded daily of her close friends, professors, and peers who did not. |

Kristina established the Koshka Foundation to protect the memory of all the fallen Hokies, promote safety and security in schools and universities, and inspire others by sharing Kristina’s life-altering story. She is aided in this by her parents Eric and Inessa Anderson. In cooperation with those who share Kristina’s vision, the Koshka Foundation will work diligently to promote growth and security in educational systems for our children. |
