Seattle 2011

First started in 2011 at Magnuson Park in Seattle, WA – we felt the significance of bringing together the Virginia Tech alumni living outside of Blacksburg, VA, to remember the important events of April 16th.

As our first seventy runners stood in a circle overlooking Lake Washington for moment of silence, they participated in the release of 32 orange and maroon balloons, and the Run for Remembrance was officially launched.

Now growing to include Washington D.C, the goal of the “Run 3.2 for 32” is to unite local communities and Hokies in commemoration and solidarity, and to teach others the power of what it means to live under the “Ut Prosim” motto of Virginia Tech – “that I may serve”.

Whether you are an alumni of Virginia Tech, a student, a parent, an athlete or one of our supporters – we invite you to join us and help spread the “Run 3.2 for 32” to your city.
